Optimizes inventory management by considering expiration dates, adjusting purchases, and simulating stock flow based on product lifespan.
The Product Lifespan-Aware Inventory Projection plugin enables more precise planning by factoring in product expiration dates in stock projections. It simulates a FIFO (First In, First Out) management model, ensuring that items with shorter lifespans are used first.
Additionally, it adjusts purchase orders not only based on consumption but also on losses due to expiration. The option to enable commercial lifespan allows defining how many days a product should remain sellable before being considered obsolete. Once the threshold is exceeded, the system marks it as dead stock.
This approach reduces waste, optimizes replenishment, and improves inventory planning for sectors sensitive to expiration dates, such as food, pharmaceuticals, and cosmetics.
